If you cannot go to your US visa appointment, you can change your appointment date. US nonimmigrant visa appointments can be rescheduled by calling the VAC or online.

This rescheduling will push the appointment to the next available time slot that is convenient for you. For the US embassy to consider the rescheduling, you will need to provide a valid reason. To change an appointment for a US immigrant visa, you need to contact the National Visa Center (NVC) and tell them why you need to change your appointment.

You need to give them your case number or application number and tell them what time is best for you so that they can try to get you a new appointment. However, if you change your appointment, the NVC will schedule it for the next available time slot. Therefore, you must plan ahead and try to attend your original appointments.

Changing your appointment will only delay your visa processing and increase the amount of time you need to wait to find out whether you will get your visa.
